Summer

This summer has been a ton of fun! Despite me never updating anybody, but here you go. We love the playground, especially Ian.

He runs around playing the whole time saying "no pictures!!" So, I don't really have many of him lately. He doesn't like the paparazzi anymore, it's sad really.

See, even Mila loves the playground. I love it too, because it wears them out. We usually go before it gets really hot. Because OMG, it is so hot! I don't know how the guys work outside all day, they are insane.

Speaking of Mila, she is scooting backwards incredibly fast, but just gets really sad because she's trying to go forwards. Plus, she'd rather be standing and assisted-walking. She's also rocking like a champ. Here she is getting into trouble:

See that smile? She knows she's not supposed to be able to do that yet. Baby steps, girl. Franny went bonkers and has been getting awesome things for the kids. Here is Mila working it for the camera:

Thanks Franny! And lastly, but not least, the pool. I don't know if I told y'all or not, but at the beginning of the summer, Ian was terrified of the water. Swim lessons were miserable, perhaps slightly embarrassing because boy can scream, but we got through it. We've been taking him to the pool regardless and yesterday, he went bonkers, in a good way.

Even though he looks scared, he loves the crap out of it! He slid down the slide about 100 times. He was blowing bubbles, going under the fountain, and so much more! One parent even told Stephen that Ian was like a fish. Needless to say, our minds were blown. Really.

So, we've been busy this summer and I haven't updated much at all. But, as always, hopefully it'll start up soon. These kids don't leave much time for the computer.

The Kiddos

I haven't really had too much time to update too much lately. And, I really don't have time now, but I'm choosing to tell you what's up! Then, I realized, omg, it's been a long time since I've updated... a really long time. In case you didn't know it, there is another photographer in the Bendig household.

He has a natural talent.

This turned into this... (after I had him scoot back)

He took tons of pictures of his sister.

Ian took about 100 pictures while we were in Houston. It was outrageous. Thanks grandma for such an awesome gift! I have several plain white pictures because Ian thought it was hilarious to flash himself (or other non-deserving victims) in the face. Thus, a white picture. I'm surprised he knew how to take a picture of himself, but he did.

He was really funny. He even went to the other side of the camera, the modeling side. He does it so well.

Fancy trick, huh?

And, just in case you have forgotten, since it's been so long since I've posted. Here are my absolutely adorable kids.

Next blog, I'll fill you in on why were in Houston in the first place. Someone got married!

Happy Half Birthday!!

Well, you read it. Mila is officially 6 months old! I meant to give her whipped cream like we did for Ian's birthday... but I forgot. Oops! I'll do it tomorrow. She won't know the difference ;-)

Here's a recap of this little girl's life:

.1-Days
Still baking, and I thought I still had two weeks left! But, I woke up the next morning, and bam!

day-1
This lovely lady made her appearance.

1-Month
A month later, back in the hospital, for RSV. It was a rough month, with a few more rough months to follow.

2-Months
She was obviously worn out by it all.

3rd-month
Still pretty as ever.

4-months
Mila diagnosed with GERD (severe acid reflux), but we finally got it under control with 2 medicines and a special formula. She is now free to smile all the time! Not just between breaks of screaming fits from pain.

5-months
Sitting up and still all smiles. She's in love with her older brother.

6-months
At grandadoo's and granny janny's! My kiddos have a knack for sticking their tongues out!

It has been a very fun (and eventful) 6 months and I'm super excited to keep it going! She has such a personality already.

She loves to eat and is becoming rather good at it. If I had to guess, pears are her favorite. I can mix them with any other food and she'll eat it, like carrots. Sweet potatoes are also mighty scrumptious.

Her brother can make her smile and laugh like nobody else. She's showing signs of crawling. Scooting, mostly backwards, but she has the occasional forward slip-up. Hilariously, when I ask Ian to show her how to crawl, he army crawls like he did when he was a baby... it's so flipping cute.

She also started swim lessons this month, and she's like a fish in the water. She can go underwater, loves splashing, kicking, going after the ducky, and so much more. Swim lessons are fun, for now.

She babbles and babbles like crazy, mostly late at night when it's bedtime and she's trying to stay awake. Amy and I compare it to when we were younger and staying up really, really late. We'd get so tired and delirious that anything and everything was funny and we'd just talk our heads off. That is Mila when it's time to go to bed.

Good night people. I'm going to go read and actually try and fall asleep at a decent hour for a change.
