Sitting Up

We've been practicing rolling over and sitting up. Mila is nearly a pro.

Even with her brother bothering her, she's still almost getting it. She turned into a pancake soon after.

She's definitely a determined little girl.

This is an Epidemic

I'm doing laundry and realize that the disappearing sock epidemic is getting pretty severe. Case in point:

Mom, if you have any of those, please share the wealth.

It seems to be worse for means Ian than it is for Stephen and Mila. Ridiculous.

Back to work now.

Here's a picture for previous post...

Hahaha!

I put Mila in her bumbo and walked into the kitchen to grind me some coffee beans and make some morning energy. I hear Ian talking and laughing so I walk into the living room. He's sitting on the floor with Mila, gave her some toys, has a cup in front of each of them, and is talking to her, then hysterically laughing. It's so awesome and beautiful! :) Good start to my morning.

Let's Get Frank

I don't even want to get into how many doctor's appointment my family has been to this last week, let alone month. And don't even mention the pharmacy visits. But, I will tell you that we are getting some answers!

Mommy - I am doing good I think. I still hurt pretty damn bad. On Friday and Saturday I didn't even want to move. I had this constant dull pain along my c-section scar, and any time I sat, stood, walked, anything it would be a sharp pain. It's really hard for me to get comfortable. After my second appointment today, the doctor saw sutures from my c-section and told me that I have irritated it. So, I'm supposed to take it easy, take ibuprofen, and heat it. In 3 days, if the pain isn't gone. I have to go back. She said there are a few different scenarios that we could go through, but let's hope that I don't have to get opened up again and fixed. That would really stink. And my stress level is through the roof. My neck is stiff, it's going down into my shoulder and my arm goes tingly (Yay! for pinched nerves). So, my chiropractor grandma said she'd come up and help try and fix me... as if that's possible. But, she does make me feel better.

Mila - She's on a new medicine. We'll give it to her with her Zegerid. If it works, then we'll slowly take her off the Zegerid. And we actually worked out a plan for two months. I LOVE this doctor! He's awesome, he listened to me, seemed interested and concerned in my daughter and what I had to say about everything. I'm pretty excited about moving forward with her reflux! And, hopefully she gets over it soon.

Ian - SINUS INFECTION! AH! Uncle Michael has always gotten a ton of sinus infections, and yet, it never occurred to me. His eye boogers were outrageous and his eyes looked funny, so I thought it was the beginning stages of pink eye, nope. Sinus infection. How insane. He actually threw up today, which prompted the doctor visit. Now, he's on some antibiotics. Hopefully he starts feeling better soon too.

Now, I must get back to organizing and figuring out all of these hospital bills and insurance crap. I loves it when an insurance company pays something, then rejects all of the claims... I think this is where all of my neck/arm/shoulder stress is coming from. One billing at a time.... I can do this.

When it Rains.. It pours

And it has been for 2 months! Our garage door broke, hospital bills are still piling up, Ian may be sick again, I have a really bad pain in my abdomen that I'm going to the doctor for, Ian's car seat broke (not the one in the accident, another one, NEVER buy a True Fit car seat from First Years), and much, much more. It's ridiculous. Hopefully I'll be able to handle a substantial blog post in the future. We're here. We're alive.

Mila started a new medication today for her reflux, let's hope it works. I'm hopeful. Thanks Amy for helping me out with the doctor's appointment today. :-) And as always, parents for helping out with Ian and Mila. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

3 Kids, 1 Day

Today, I had a pretty fun day. Ian got to play with another kid. He's usually around adults, so it was a good experience. And let me tell you, the kids were awesome! All 3 of them took a nap (including me... oops).
Well, that's all 3 of them! I carried Mila for most of the day so I could have both of my hands free. Somehow, I seem to have misplaced my Ergo, so I was going old school, the Bjorn. We made it though! They had lots of fun sliding into the sandbox from the slide. Stephen just finished it up yesterday. It was intense!

Jackie's kiddo was hilarious. Ian is all done posing for my camera, but Julian is not. Here's a series of looks I got from him.

Hilarious, right? I thought so. He didn't take very long to get comfortable. :)

And lastly, but certainly not the least, here they are in their rides.

I know, I know, what a bunch of bad asses. I couldn't agree more. Julian cried when he first pushed the button and the car moved... it was awesome. Ian thought it was super fun to have someone to crash into. It was hilarious. Kids are so funny!
I have to go now. Ian keeps bringing me Easter tattoos to cover his body with... yeah, yeah.

New phone!

This update comes straight from the new phone. New number too. Maybe it will be easier to update the 365 now.

Time for Some Zzzz's!

I had to stay up until 11:30pm because I made the mistake of giving Mila her medicine then, and we're supposed to do it in 12 hour increments. Oh well, only for 5 days! Just wanted to let everyone know that I have a new layout for now. :) Hopefully this one will stay longer. I'm in a really colorful mood. Can you tell?! Maybe because it's spring. I'll try and update my 365 tomorrow, but I make no promises. I did FINALLY organize the bookshelf with all of the toys this weekend, so that's one awesome victory!

Mila looks like she's feeling better too. Let's hope it sticks.

Good night!!

Zoo

My mom and I took the kids to the zoo last week and it was a lot of fun! Both of them really enjoyed it and then passed out when we got home. I kept trying to get really close to a peacock and kept asking my mom "do you think they'll attack me?" And then one of them charged another animal, but not me. So, I guess my distance was just right, but I did get pretty close to a few of them.

The pictures from the top left are:
1. This is how close I got to the peacock. Impressive huh? I think so. I basically risked my life for this picture. I'm sure the peacock could take me down.
2. Ian feeding the animals. He was so scared so my mom put her hand under his. He giggled, but wouldn't do it again and made us feed the animals. Fun fact: when we were feeding the goats, one of them (she was gigantic, we think pregnant) and she jumped on the fence and was eating over the fence. Ian pointed his finger at her and yelled "GET DOWN!" It was hilarious.
3. Ian's face at the beginning of the train ride. He loves trains. But there were hens and roosters around that kept coming after me and I would get scared. He's learning all of my bad habits by association. But, I was totally playing it cool at this point and was telling him that they wouldn't bother him.
4. Mila on the train! She had a great time. My mom wore her for most of the zoo adventure.
5. My mom and I trying to get Ian to pose with a Longhorn for a picture for my dad. "SMILE!!" He was so tired and delirious, this is all we got. HA! Is this what you want mom? I love it! So cute. :)

In other news, I think I'm going to take Mila to the doctor AGAIN tomorrow. This girl cannot stay away. I think we've been every week since she was born. It gets expensive. But, I think she has RSV again. Is it weird that I think my babies are healthy even though we can't stay out of the doctor? I still think she is. Just struggling with her little immune system at the moment.

Got to go! Today is organize day and I'm going to go through Ian's toys and what not. AH! Wish me luck!

A Few Things

Here are some bullets.

  • I redesigned Deana's Blog and now I like hers better than mine. So, I think I'm going to redo mine again. Ha!
  • The kids are sleeping and I'm awake.
  • Mila has a really bad cough, though it got better with Tylenol last night. Now, that doesn't make any sense to me.
  • I don't know why, but I thought this picture was/is hilarious:

Thank you Austin Zoo.
  • I ordered mine and Stephen's new phones off of Amazon. Not only will we have the same phone now, but we'll have T-Mobile instead of AT&T. We're super excited. I'm not a fan of AT&T... at all. Oh, did I mention I got the phones for a penny?! Sweet.
  • My To Do list for this weekend is about as long as my body. I am short, but it's still pretty long.
  • I'm on my computer and it's working thus far without replacing the video card. But, I did back up some important things onto Stephen's computer. How much is it to back things up online and where can I do that? Does anyone know?
  • We were supposed to go to Fort Worth this weekend. But, Mila is still sick and our house is a disaster. :( Ian has been saying "RAFIK!" all week. Poor dude.

Car Accident

Yesterday, Stephen picked up the kids from my parents' house and headed home. On the way there he go rear ended. It was pretty low end, but the truck does need a new bumper. I'm so grateful that our car seats did their job! Especially because the Chicco was seat bealted in without the base. When I got to the scene, the car seat was still there, hadn't budged. So, if you have a Chicco and you were wondering, yes, it's super safe. Ian's car seat did awesome as well, it's a Recaro Signo. I was hoping I'd never have to review their car seats' safety based on being in an accident, but I'm so thankful they performed so well!

I guess now, we're going to have to replace the car seats because they were in an accident. I'm going to look it up, but I'm pretty sure that's the protocol.

Does this go on their 'firsts'?

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update and say the kiddos are fine! (from the accident). For my kids, when it rains, it pours. They've both had ear infections, immunizations, and now an accident in one week. It's been rough! I am hoping it'll be a better week from here on out.

Good Thursday!

New Look

This morning, I was up at 3 and couldn't wait to have coffee any longer. But, I had to grind the coffee beans, so I went a got a folded up towel and threw it over it while I grinded away. It worked. And it was delicious. Mila had a fever last night, but it seems to be gone now, and she has finally eaten. Now, I must go take care of the kiddos... and get Ian ready for his play date with Aunt Jackie. :)

Ten on Tuesday

1. If you work, do you drive to work or take public transportation?
I drive about 30 minutes each way.
2. How often do you get your haircut? Do you go to the same person every time?
Once or twice a year lately. It's hard to remember to get a haircut with so much going on. And I go to one of two salons, but don't get the same person.
3. Do you read the newspaper? If so, a hardcopy or the online version?
No. I read Google News.
4. What is the best book you have read this year?
Anything by Kathryn Casey. Love her. It's true crime. I highly recommend you read it if you don't already.
5. What is the best movie you have seen this year?
I've only seen one movie in theaters this year with Ian and I didn't like it, Gnomio and Juliet.
6. Do you tend to crave sweet or salty foods?
Salty.
Publish Post
7. Do you eat breakfast every day? If so, what do you have?
Yes. Lately, mini quiches. My norm is oatmeal. Sometimes eggs or a cinnamon roll if it's the weekend.
8. If you celebrate Easter, what Easter treat/candy are you most looking forward to?
I don't really associate Easter with food as I do cracking confetti eggs on people's heads. And this year, an uber amount of family pictures.
9. How late is “sleeping in” to you?
I don't know what that is. But, when I did sleep in, it was only until 9 or something. I've never been a late sleeper. I'm an early riser.

Fort Worth. Ian's pretty excited about it.Photobucket

What's in the Reader?

This post is more for me than my readers, but I think you'll enjoy it anyways. Ian is sick (we think an ear infection now too) and Mila is sleeping on me, so I've got some time. Oh, Ian's taking a bath. In my handing Google Reader, I star the things that really interest me or that I want to remember for some reason. I'm going through it as we speak to show you what's up in my world.

1. Strawberry Spinach Salad - I sent this link to Jackie (as I do a million recipes) in hopes that she'll prepare it and make it for me. She never does, but it's a good idea! Haha! Maybe I'll make it one day when my kids are grown and I have a memory of sorts.

2. Organized Tools - I thought this was a really cute/organized idea! I saved it in hopes of one day sharing it with Stephen... or just doing it while he's at work one day. I only have so many more of those days left, so I really need to get on that!

3. Project Life - I'm going to do this. I'll start it. It's like a scrapbook (in my mind) but better because mommy writes the children all kinds of notes and thoughts that she was having at that time. I need to start one for my kids. Best. Idea. Ever. Thanks!!

4. One Liner Cards - Just a bunch of hilarity. Click if you want to chuckle.

5. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes - Another thing I sent Jackie that she needs to make happen.

6. Chalkboard Placemats - I want to make these and I want to use them. I'd doodle all kinds of awesome things during dinner. Then, maybe, just maybe, I'd be able to doodle more than the WOW dog and the other dog where you draw 5 circles, then a series of random lines... ya know what I'm talking about?

7. Little Spring in your Step - This is to remind me to go download this kit for a spring srcrapbook page. You should check it out. It's awesome. I love all of her kits! Yeah, you should do it, then start on your Life Project too.

8. Pullout Cabinet Drawers - I want these... in all of my cabinets. Yes please!

9. Pirate Ship Room - This room needs to be Ian's room. Then, Mila needs to have a pimp room too. Could you imagine? I need to get started on that...

10. Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries - Everyone, go to that link. NOW! Then, e-mail Jackie. Beg, plead, get on your knees, kiss her feet, and BEG her to make them! You know you wanna!

11. Cut Outs - I love these. I made one for the Waddell family, but just on the computer, didn't print it. LOVES IT!

That is all. Must go answer my texts. I'm sure it's Jackie, my parents, both, or Amy. Ha!

Super Hero Moms

Ian is sick today so I am keeping him home from school. Nothing bad, I think it's just a cold (cough and runny nose). I guess it could be allergies too. But, I don't want him having to spend all day at school when he's feeling crummy.

To prepare, Amy and I went to Target last night and bought Ian some play dough. I thought it might be time. And I think I was right. He had so much fun with it this morning!

It's Cookie Monster and you can mold letters and food and feed them to him. Ian had a blast! Now, we're just lazy and lounging around.

This also made me realize. My house has fallen apart this week. Ian has been more clingy because he doesn't feel well. And thank goodness Mila has been an little better and enjoys her new formula. She has even slept through the night a few times since the switch, so I think it's sitting with her a lot better. Though, it's a bit of a pain in the ass because it's a ready-to-go formula that must stay refrigerated and thrown out after being out for an hour. We'll figure it out though, whatever it takes to make her comfortable.

Which brings me to my next point. Congratulations to all of those moms of two out there! Yesterday, I left my wallet in the parking lot of an HEB. I called back later and someone had actually turned it in. They didn't take any money. I am so grateful and relived, you have no idea! I actually had cash in there for once. But I mean, really, I have no idea how mom's do it and are still able to think straight and make it through a whole day. It. Is. Exhausting.

Which brings me to yet another point:

This is my family from a while ago. Can you count the kids in this picture? I'll help you, 3. There are 3 kids. How is my mother still able to have coherent thoughts, or even have strings of words come out of her mouth that make any sense at all? I'd like to say it's because I was such a great kid that I made it easy on her. But still, it's rough! You might as well put a big S on the front of her shirt and call her Super Mom.

That's all for now. Must go take care of my sickling before work. :) Have a great Friday!

I think the blog is in need of a face-lift. No ideas yet, but hopefully some changes soon. Mila just yelled at me because I wanted to play and she wanted to sleep... sigh. She loves her swing. I probably would too though, so I don't blame her.

Now, waiting on Amy so we can go to the park!

Reflux

I just sat down to write the blog because Stephen is holding Mila and prepared me dinner. I turn my head for one second, and what happens?!

He climbed in on his own. I didn't know if was going to break or what, he was being pretty rough with it. Haha!!

Now, onto reflux. Mila has GERD. We have an appointment with the GI Pediatric Specialist at the end of the month. Her medicine helps the symptoms subside, but they never fully disappear. And, if she gains a few ounces, she's screaming bloody murder because the medicine isn't working anymore. She's on Zegerid, the powder form of Prilosec. We mix it for her every couple of days so that the medicine is really potent.

Mila cries real tears.

We have also made the decision to switch Mila onto formula, full-time. She was getting half breastmilk and half formula. Now, she's full-time formula. I was continuing to pump, but oddly, she screams when she drinks my breastmilk. I know, I know, have you tried eliminating things from your diet? Duh, people. I really, really, really want to breastfeed my kids. This has been a really rough and difficult decision to make. Do you not recall when I was eating only meat and a few select veggies?

Rough, rough decision. But, the formula she's on is special for babies with reflux. She spits up a lot less and most importantly, doesn't seem nearly as uncomfortable. She still has bouts of screaming and discomfort, so we're still going to the specialist and I really hope they're able to do something to make her more comfortable.

She is still sleeping in the swing or car seat.

It's really bizarre because I can tell when her reflux is acting up. How? I can hear it. My mom can too. You can hear it in her belly and in her throat. My poor baby girl. I'm sure she's going to sit up and walk before she even rolls over because she can never get any floor time. Every time I try and put her on her belly, she has milk coming out of her nose. But, she does love to sit and stand up with someone help. Sometimes, it's the only thing that'll make her happy.

Hopefully, come May, I'll be able to tell everyone that she's doing 100 times better with her reflux. And, I'm really praying that she is able to outgrow it when she's 6-9 months... that would be glorious!

That's all for today folks.

Go check out Chelsea's blog: Roots and Rings, for the Mr. Linky and participate!!

When your boyfriend makes you a delicious surf and turf dinner for your anniversary and then ends up proposing. Oh wait... that totally happened.

What's a date? About 5-10 minutes. Haha!

3. What would you wear on the date?

Isn't she adorable? Ian loved her and kept calling her "baby." You can't forget about Maggie though... and I thought I'd just throw in a picture of my newest baby too...
A real live update to come sometime later this week. I am almost promising you!
