Mmmm

Ian and I joined Crystal, Franny, and Justin today for lunch. And boy was it tasty! We went to O's. Delicious. Marty could have made it complete.

It was such a pretty day today! I failed to get any pictures of Crystal, so obviously, we are going to have to do it again.

Ian took a bit to warm up to Justin. But he did. And they had so much fun together! Thanks to Justin for allowing me to have a meal without a baby in my lap! Though, Justin did have Ian in his lap... and he had to share his food.

Obviously these two were just made for the camera. :)

I'm hoping that this becomes an every single Wednesday thing. And believe it or not, I did get a picture of Franny, but I'm scared that she'll be mad if I post it because she's getting crunk on the phone. :) I'll save it for my special Franny post.

Ten on Tuesday

Ian is napping and I don't want to wake him up. So, I'll do the TOT before waking him. I do have a presentation to give!

1. What television character do you identify with?
Definitely Claire from Modern Family. I'm awesome... and a mom.... and I have a dorky husband. :)
2. Describe your morning routine.
I wake up. That's it. It's not the same every morning. I do have goals and ideals though. We're still working on that, ok? Ian just started sleeping through the night!
3. How do you do lunch? Bring from home or dine out? Same thing every day or mix it up?
I eat at home. It depends on my mood. Sometimes I eat leftovers, sometimes I whip something up. Or, I eat out occasionally! Like, tomorrow, with (Ian), Justin and Crystal. :)
4. What is one moment that, although seemingly trivial at the time, changed your life?Deciding to go to Austin with Jackie to hang out with my brother and his friends for New Years. I met (in my mind, not Stephen's) the man I would build a family and a life with.
5. Name your top three beauty products. What's beauty products? I don't really take care of myself anymore. I should probably get to that.
6. What do you do when you’re alone in the car?
SING! DUH! Or, I take the opportunity to catch up on speaker phone with Amy (if it's my long school drive).
7. What is the ideal city for you to live in? If you can, take this survey (< that’s a link) and tell us the results. Do you agree with them?I took the quiz and here are my top 5 cities:
1. Little Rock, Arkansas
2. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
3. Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana
4. Fayetteville, Arkansas
5. Portland, Oregon
My mind is baffled. I only want to live in Austin.
8. Are you waiting for something?
Many, many things.
9. What was the last shocking news you heard?
... Do you read my blog?
10. What are three things you wouldn’t do for a million dollars?
There are tons of things. No time! Got to run!

Mommy Goggles

Quick Ian update to satisfy everyone's craving today.

Last night, Stephen and I are getting ready to go to bed (Ian is already sleeping, this new schedule is turning out wonderfully) and I stop and look at Ian. He is peacefully sleeping. Which is amazing. I'm sure he's getting much better sleep now. Not only that, but he looks so big! I mean huge. Probably like a 4 year old. He is so mature now. He is changing every day! It is phenomenal. He does everything an adult would just, he just does it in a smaller way... and sometime a little more strange. He helps me with the dishes, he starts the dishwasher, he'll pick up his toys when asked. And, as I found out, he understands a lot more than we think he does. If we ask a question, he'll find someway to answer it.

The other day, I couldn't find his brown shoes. I said to Stephen, "I can find this one, but I don't know where the other brown shoe is!" And I give up and start getting myself ready. Ian walked into my room with both of his brown shoes in tow and hands them to me. OUTRAGEOUS! It is a weird feeling to know that he understands me now.

What? You don't believe me? Here's another example. He knows that when him and daddy go to Petsmart, the usually get new fish. And he was so happy walking in the door holding these new fish. And he actually knew what to do! He helped daddy put the fish in the bag in the tank to even out the water (I'm sure he doesn't know the reasons, just that we do it). And he was SUPER excited. He was sitting in his chair in front of the tank looking in at it, talking to me about it, pointing.  It was hysterical.

He just looks so happy, right? I love it.

His vocabulary is still rapidly growing; DVD, orange, and just about any word that you say that he likes.

That is all for now. I have to go read for Ian... and myself. :)

Mommy Goggles

For real, Ian is the cutest baby alive. He was sick last week, with an ear infection and some other sort of sinus thing. He's better now. So, I thought that sleeping would be good again. Which now that I say that outloud, when was it ever good? It has been taking us 3+ hours to get Ian to sleep every night. It's a little bit ridiculous. I don't know what the deal is. I hope it ends soon. I now know why Ian is so freakin' cute.

My aunt let me borrow her 35mm lens this weekend to see if I like it enough to buy it. Stephen is all pictured out, and from the looks of it, so is Ian.

I need some new models. He is always giving me squinty eyes when I try and take a picture of him. And, he down right REFUSES to look at me. So, models please? :) I need to give my aunt her lens back!

In other Ian news... 19.5 pounds. We're still trying to reach 20! I feel like I may throw a party when we get there. Maybe it'll be at the same time of his 2 year birthday. Ian got to spend some time with my parents this weekend, apparently my dad got him to take a nap! Wonderful. Franny can do it too. I think I'm going to write a post about Franny this week and how she is the most wonderful thing since ever.

Vocabulary? Wonderful. He's funny. I can't even write the words on here because I feel like he says new things every single day. And we're always caught of guard. He likes the shock factor too I think. He actually said Grandpa the other day, but then wouldn't repeat it when we were all confused.

He also makes kissy lips now instead of just making the kissing sound. Outstanding!

Okay, now we must go watch View from the Top and CLEAN! To come this week: Franny, wedding, Gloria, I-han, maybe Marissa. And guess what?! In-laws are coming this weekend! WOOHOO! So, must get to the go.

What's a Blog?

Sorry!

We've been busy! Stephen got a new bike.

I made sushi with the mom.

And I took some Easter pictures of Ian.

We've also officially filed our taxes, sort of started the photography business, took a midterm, in the process of writing a paper and reading 3 chapters, and doing a project, working, having a poor sick baby, not cleaning the home, needing to write thank you cards, changing my name, trying to see friends, being a wife, mommy, and daughter, getting an early start on my mom's mother's day gift, getting Stephen a new bike, playing, playing, and playing with Ian, going to the park, going to the museum, cooking, falling behind on laundry, etc etc. I'm leaving a lot out. I'm amazed at how I get ANYTHING done! :)

But, I do love it. I get to hang out with my loves a lot. Does anyone want to be my personal assistant? I'm taking applications. I can only pay you with hugs and Ian's presence.

Do:
- Expect pictures soon, I get to steal my cousin for a day! She's amazing. She's also known as The Flower Girl.
- Expect more pictures! I get to take some pictures of my friend and her gorgeous daughter!

Don't:
- Expect me to keep up with the blog until the semester is over... at least. Oops...

Mommy Goggles

Hey! The family went to Houston this past weekend. First, we spent time with Deana and had two photo shoots.

They were troopers! Ian got to play a lot, even with other kids. And well, Stephen got to play with other dads. It was a fun trip.

Then, on Monday we went and hung out with Granny Janny (which Ian SAID) and Grandpa Larry's! It was fun. It was a beautiful day so we go to play a lot.

{Honey & Ian played while waiting for Janet to get  home}

{Honey getting her much needed attention}

{Ian wearing the necklace that Granny Janny made him}

Needless to say, it was a fun day. We really enjoyed it. Ian is just growing in leaps and bounds. He is definitely going through an attachment period. He's sitting in my lap right now and will not do anything without me. It's ridiculous. But, it's okay because he's cute.

Blog out.

P.S. Our facebook page is up and our blog is soon to come.

Hello Blog World!

I have a feeling that by early next week, Deana & I will have our logo done. It's exciting! My mom actually came up with the final tweak to the design. And we love it! Hopefully, it looks okay. This week has been a busy week and it's only Wednesday. I'm ready for the weekend to start. Even though, that'll be busy too. Stephen's birthday is Monday and I still have no clue what to get for him.

Yesterday I had a midterm in San Antonio. I got out early so I got meet Kevin at Starbucks. I missed him. :( It was really good to see him though and should definitely happen more often! Anyways, I must go! Hopefully I'm able to make it to the social security office today. I haven't been feeling 100%... hopefully Ian does though.

Sorry I don't have Chelsea's beautiful image up here today. It's that kind of day. But, find her link at the end of the post and go check it out! I am loving pregnant Chelsea. I mean, I love Chelsea, but pregnant people are adorable.

1. If you were given an hour to use a $200 Amazon gift card, what would you buy?
A 35mm f/1.8G AF-S lens for my camera. It just looks so beautiful! I want it so hard. Could you imagine Ian looking any more beautiful in his pictures? Or, considering the date, I'd get Stephen a present. Though, I still have no ideas.
2. Are there any fairly common foods that you’ve never had?
I don't think so, I'm pretty willing to try anything. Um.... no ideas.
3. What was your favorite way to use your imagination as a kid?
I am a big day dreamer, always have been, probably always will be. I loved to play school, house, ya know, the usual. I have no idea. Maybe my mom does.
4. What’s your favorite state? Why?
Texas. I don't think I need to say anything else.
5. If it was our culture to have our parents choose our spouses, do you think yours would make a good choice?
Heck yeah! My mom's a good judge of character and my dad is super rational. It would be perfect... I think they'd pick Stephen.
6. What’s your favorite herb?
Umm.... I don't know. I think Deana will answer this one and I'll just take her answer as my own.
7. If you could have dinner with one celebrity, who would you choose?
Kelly Ripa. She seems really funny and she's a mommy. We'd laugh and I love to laugh.
8. What’s your favorite Disney movie?
Beauty and the Beast. I'm such a romantic.
9. If you had to listen to the same song over and over for 24 hours, what song would you choose?
A really really long classical number so it wouldn't get too boring.
10. How do you order your steak?
I used to order them medium, but then I got pregnant with Ian and I got them well done and that is still how I've been ordering them. I love me some steak.

Don't forget to head over to Chelsea's blog!

Mommy Goggles

Yesterday, I was busy studying, so my parents watched Ian for me. They went to the park and my wonderful mother sent me some pictures of their adventures.

I'm told that enjoys playing in the sand... which he does. I've witnessed it. Here's some proof:

Not only that, but he's pretty bossy. Here's some of Ian and my dad watching the kites. Notice how Ian points. Somehow, when he's around my dad, he forgets how to use his words and ends up just pointing and grunting. What's even more strange... my dad understands him.

Aren't they adorable together? It looks like Ian was having so much fun! I was inside studying during these exciting times.

And yeah, the ducks are pretty cool too. Ian loves animals. He's probably just like his daddy in that respect. And lastly, one of my faves:

The boys having some nice relaxing fun after the exhausting day. I'll try and upload more collages if they come out okay. I like them.
