Cheese It

Ian actually let me take a about 1 minute worth of pictures of him the other day. WOO HOO!!! Here he is hamming it up and rolling around the bed. What a goober!

Look at his huge smile!!

The one above... is probably my favorite one! Lol. He's such a cutie.

See him pointing his littler finger at me? I wonder what he was telling me to do.

Bring on the toothpaste! I acutally can't find that toothpaste. I stool Stephen's from his bathroom. Shhh... don't tell him.

Teeth brushing rocks! And Ian loves to do it.

And that's it!!

Just wanted to show you that he actually handled the camera for a few shots. YAY!!

Ten on Tuesday

Ok, here's my 10 on Tuesday!

If you got an e-mail reminder, I set that up! So now, some of you don't have to wonder when I update.

1. What is your favorite piece of furniture in your house?
Our bed. It was the first piece of furniture that Stephen and I bought. Thus, it's my favorite.

2. If it was raining so hard on a Saturday that you couldn’t leave your house, what would you spend the day doing?
Maybe watch a movie, clean, cook, play. You know, all the normal things. We just wouldn't do anything outside.

3. What was your favorite candy as a child?
Reese's and Jolly Ranchers. Tasty!

4. Did you get an allowance? What was it based on? What did you do with it?
Yes, it was never the same method all the way through. At one point, my parents opened a savings account for me and they'd put money in there ever so often.

5. Do you have a favorite Etsy store?
Not in particular. There are way too many super cool stores! Though, I have yet to purchase anything. I feel like I'd get buyers remorse... so I have to love it for a long time before I make a purchase.

6. Do you prefer time with family or time with friends?
Both.

7. Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons, or Animaniacs?
I remember the animaniacs song... but that's about it. I think there is a show with baby Looney Toons, but I could just be making that up.

8. Best daytime talk show: Oprah, Ellen, The Doctors, Tyra (ha!), Dr. Oz, or Dr. Phil?
Ellen. I don't usually watch daytime shows, but I have seen all of these at one point or another. And Ellen is hilarious!

9. Would you rather have the power of invisibility or the ability to fly?
Fly. That way I could get places faster and avoid traffic.

10. Name 1 thing you love about being an adult.
I love being married. I love having my kiddo.

Picture Perfect

No time for words today. But here is a picture to give you your daily fill of Ian.

Ten on Tuesday

1. If your name was a verb, what would “to Chelsea” mean? (Insert your own name though…)
"to Amanda"? Probably "to spill something," I can't avoid spilling things. It's what I do. If I'm at your house and you give me a drink someplace rather than the kitchen, I'm going to be super paranoid the entire time. And there's a 70% chance I'm going to spill it everywhere.
2. What myth have you always wanted to prove or bust?
Um... I have no clue. Nothing really comes to mind.
3. If you had the ability to get a message out to the entire world, what would you say?
CHILL OUT! lol
4. I know you’ve answered a similar question before, but it’s been awhile. Please name your current top 10 blogs.
Let me pull out my Google Reader and drop some knowledge on my favorite blogs!
1) Pioneer Woman - She writes about everything from life, photography, cooking, etc. I don't read all of her posts, but she does have some good ones.
2) Paperie Boutique  - They showcase a lot of photographer's packaging on this site. And it is oh so very cute. I like to think that one day in the future, Deana and I will create something super cute, eco-friendly, and cost efficient. :)
3) Money Saving Mom - They post tons of good deals. Most of them are a waste of my time, but occasionally there is a good one I could possibly use. This is why Google Reader rocks.
 4)  Roots and Rings - A friend from high school. She got me started on the whole 'blogging' thing.
5)  Profoundly Seth - This is perhaps my favorite blog to follow. It's a great one. I always take the time to read it when she has the time to write. She's a mother of five (one was a still birth, one has hearing loss), newly divorced, with a brand new (maybe not so much anymore) baby. She writes very well, in my opinion. I love following her story.
6)  Life in Motion Photography - Austin area photographer, I like to look at her stuff. Pinkle Toes is in the same boat. And my favorite Austin-area photographer is Jennifer Cota. You should really check her stuff out, she's amazing.
7)  Bakerella - Of course! She taught me to make those delicious cake balls, though, I'm going to change up the recipe next time.
8)  Bobbi & Mike -  a couple that shoots together. OMG! They are so adorable and their pictures are incredible. I just found them and I'm addicted.
9)  Summer Driggs - She creates free digital scrapbooking kits for personal use. They are wonderful. My hope is to get into that one day, so of course I love her blogs!
10) Life as a Waddell - My photographer partner and friend's blog. You should read it. She just had surgery on her wrist, so she can't really type... but, I'm all for her getting one of those things that you can talk into and it writes for you. Remember? I remember seeing them a long time ago and haven't seen them around in forever.
5. Do you have a junk drawer?
Yes.
6. Bottled water or tap?
We use a Brita Filter!
7. As a kid, did you have a favorite Biblical story?
Not particularly.
8. What is your favorite black and white movie?
I don't watch black & white movies... but if I had to choose, I'd say Sin City.
9. Aside from your engagement/wedding rings, what is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own? Does it have a story behind it?My necklace that Stephen got me with a "B" initial on it. :D
10. What sports/activities do you hope your kids will be involved in? (Answer for both a boy and a girl)
All of the sports! Lol, jk. Soccer and water polo? Whatever interests him.

Ian the King

Just when you think he couldn't get any more bossy, he does.  Now that he can sign "more," everything has changed. This morning, he hands me his juice cup, signs "more," and walks away to play with his toys. As if he just knows that I'm going to go get him more juice. It's times like these when I wonder why did I want to teach him that again? It was a good idea at the time. But for now, I'm just the mommy that does whatever he wants.

Now, time for some coffee. Ian woke me up at 6 this morning, maybe earlier. I was not ready to be awake yet.

Ian Smian.

A small Ian update to satisfies everyone's need for Ian love. Ian has been really into climbing lately. Also, he's really into being and adult. Case in point:

He climbed Stephen's computer chair. This next image is what shortly followed:

We usually have to restart the computers after such an occurrence. But hey, he tries, really hard. He must have wore himself out.

Cute, right? I've been trying to capture tons of pictures of his freaking adorable feet. We ended the night with a movie and a homemade bed. Ian didn't want to lay down in bed without me and frankly, I didn't want to make him. So I made him a little home below my computer and put Monster's Inc on the laptop. He just watched the movie and patiently waited for me to finish whatever it is I was doing.

Cute, right? I can't get enough of him. Although, today I thought I did when he was emptying out the DVDs and I couldn't collect them all fast enough to keep up. Needless to say, the apartment is a mess.

On the good side, Franny and Feng are coming over tomorrow. Feng is going to teach me how to make a shrimp and mushroom stir fry type thing, I'll tell you how that goes. I can't cook, so I'm a bit nervous. Tomorrow will also be the last day that Franny watches Ian for me. She's sad to leave him for Houston, but this time next year, FRANNY WILL BE A NURSE! Woo hoo! I'm so excited! :)

Blog out.

Mommy Goggles & Mother's Day!

I should be cleaning, but I'm procrastinating. I'll just give you three updates.

1. My blog is now private. I thought about it, and I'd just rather have it be private. I might change my mind in the future, but for now, you'll have to be logged in to see the blog. Sorry.

2. Mother's Day was incredible. I had some breakfast not in bed. I woke up too early. Stephen and Ian were gone when I woke up. But, they arrived home and I got a vase of roses and a balloon!

Then, I went to the grocery store with my mom. We had a really hard time finding a salon that was open. But, we desperately wanted and manicure and pedicure. FINALLY, we found one around noon and got our nails done. That was nice and relaxing.

Then, I headed to the condo where we met back up with Ian and Stephen and my dad. I actually made cake balls without any assistance from my mom. Yes, you read that right. And they are pretty tasty if I must say so myself. They were carrot cake balls. So tasty! My mom's mom, my aunt, my grandma, and my grandpa all met up at the condo for dinner (and Aaron and Rachel later). It was a wonderfully tasty meal. Lots of gifts and exchanges. It was nice to have so much family there for one meal. I rarely get to see my dad's parents anymore, so that was nice.

The boys all fell asleep at one point before dinner.

How flipping cute!

3. Ian had his 18 month check up this morning! I must say, I think it was a success. He weighed in at 19 pounds, 14 ounces! He's still not on the growth chart in that department, but he increased from last time, so that's awesome! He is 29.5 inches tall. This puts him in at ALMOST touching the bottom line of the growth chart. This was a HUGE increase from last time. The doctor was very pleased in that department.

Verdict: still not on the growth chart, but I can feel it within our grasp!

His head, I forget how many centimeters, but it's in the 75 percentile. No concerns there.

They had to do some sort of Autism checklist. Ian passed it with flying colors. He flirted it up with the doctor the entire time, as usual. He even got a token at the end of the appointment to get a ball. He was pretty enthused.

That is it for today's update! Sorry that I don't have any super cute pictures of Ian today, I mean, I probably do somewhere, but I don't feel like looking. :)

Stay tuned!

Oops

I forgot to do my Ten on Tuesday yesterday. My bad. In my defense, I wasn't home all day, and I was studying for my final that is now over and done with. But alas, no excuses. It will be up next week. My coffee is cold. :(

I have been exploring my camera and it's vast amounts of functions and capabilities. I must say, I'm really pleased. I think the pictures look really good straight out of the camera.

Isn't it a gorgeous picture? It's really vibrant. I must admit, learning my camera is super fun. We're practically best friends these days.

Not to mention, Ian will have about a million 'black mail' pictures when he's a teenager. Isn't that exciting?

I love this new way of taking pictures! It's so much fun. And, it's allowing me, thus far, to skip photoshop all together. It's glorious. I'm sure I would use minor adjustments if it were for a client or something. But for my vibrant, happy baby, these vibrant, happy pictures are a win for win.

And I know you're wondering, yes, Ian has gotten cuter. It's shocking every single morning. Besides that, school's out for the summer! WOOHOO! It feels great. :)

Mommy Goggles

I should be studying. But, I'm taking a break to update on Ian! Totally worth it, don't you think? This weekend, Ian got to go to the Pecan Street Festival with my parents. It gave me the opportunity to finish reading for my final and to get some studying in.

Isn't he a cutie? From what I hear. He was dancing really hard the whole time. He loves music. He gets really into it. He's also really into bugs.

He was watching the ants. Interesting.

Stephen and I took him back the next day. He refused to let us hold him or his hand. :(

He's so independent.
