Happy Valentine's Day!

I was on the phone with Jackie wandering around my backyard with Ian wondering what to take a picture of for today's 365. I got one here.

I had Jackie on speaker phone as we were discussing our incredibly interesting lives, when Ian's curiosity got the best of him. He walks up to me and points to the phone and says "Jackie?" Jackie proceed to say "hi," as anyone does when they're on the phone with Ian, but he never makes conversation. I guess he was feeling very adventurous today because he took the phone from me and began his own conversation with Jackie. If you've ever wondered what it was like to have a conversation with a 2 year old, I'm about to tell you. But, I have to do it with pictures. Thank goodness Jackie's a good sport and "loves her baby Ian."

He proceeds to pick up a twig, show it to the front of my phone and says "L!" I had on my zoom lens, so of course I'm pretty far away and I yell "Jackie, he said L!" I proceeded to do this for every object he showed Jackie so that she could react to what he was saying. You know, because she obviously couldn't really see what he was showing her and I didn't know if she could understand him or not.

See that bandage on his arm? That's from our 3 hour long doctor's visit to the endocrinologist today. And doctor's words "It's definitely not normal for him to be so little, but he's so perfect otherwise, it's really hard for me to imagine that there's something wrong with him." So, we took some x-rays and drew some blood. We have another appointment with the nurse practitioner in 6 months. She thinks that perhaps he's what people call "late bloomers." He's biological age is younger than his actual age. Meaning that he'll just grow later than his peers. She said that these individuals usually look really young as adults. But, we do not know if that is in fact what it is, I'll keep you updated on that. However, his little sister is 1 month old and already weighs 10 pounds, half of Ian's weight! Haha! Let's hope that he hits a growth spurt soon.

Anywho, back to Jackie's phone conversation with Ian, can you say off track? "Choo choo train!"

"Leaves!" He was very enthusiastically telling Jackie these things.

 "Football!"

And last, but certainly not least, "BALL!"

It was then that my phone said it was dying and I took the phone away from him. He proceeded to yell at me until I let him say "bye bye" to Jackie. I have never seen him take to a phone conversation like that before. I absolutely love it! Maybe we're turning a corner with that.

What goes through a 2 year old's mind? I haven't the slightest clue. But, I think it's adorable that he was "showing" Jackie some toys around our yard. I love the way their brains function!

Are there any cute things your kiddo does that leave you thinking...?
