Weekend with the Amigos

Good morning my lovely readers! I couldn't sleep last night, so I cleaned the kitchen (what?!) and prepared my coffee maker. So, I awoke this morning to the glorious smell of my breakfast blend. Mmmmm... I have to do this more often.

This post will be full of pictures! Amy and Broc came to visit for Broc's 30th birthday. It went splendidly. We all went to the football game (UT vs UTEP). It was a blowout, but it was a good, fun game. I turned into a lobster. I also, am now supporting UT 24/7. I wore longhorn stickers on my face. And now I have a tan of a longhorn on my face. Here's the picture:

Can you see it ? It's on the right side of the picture... awkwardly enough, right below my longhorn on the visor. Here are a few other pictures from the game:

Notice, I have a napkin on my chest and Stephen's face is his "I'm so hot, I'm melting" face. Oh, the fun. I was trying to prevent my chest from burning. It worked out for the most part. My right shoulder is the only place that is pretty badly burned.

Me and Amy. Beautiful. Later, we realized that we were wearing the same kind of shirt, Broc and Stephen are both wearing cargo shorts and t-shirts (I'll show you a picture in a minute). Me and Stephen are both wearing orange, Amy and Broc are both wearing white. Cute. I will end this blog with a lovely picture of the boys:

Don't they look so happy together? Teehee.

Anyways, it was a great weekend. I love it. Hopefully, they come back soon for a visit. It was their first UT football game. Shocker! I've been going to those games since I was younger. I love UT! I can't wait to bring Ian to a game. Wonderful, wonderful weekend.

Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

Somebody has a Case of the Mondays

Hey! Well, it is Monday. And it is a very bleh day. Before I get to talking about my weekend, I will update you with Ian. On Saturday, he went to the Pecan Festival with my parents. He got to go to the petting zoo!

From what they tell me, he wasn't scared at all. They actually had to put his shoes on because he wanted down to play with the animals himself!

I know it's hard to tell, but he has his shoes on and he's standing next to the animal petting it. Adorable! Here is one more from the Pecan Street Festival. This is why he loves going to grandma's and T-Bone's so much!

Nice! Lol. I'm sure he ate a lot of that too. When I picked him up, his lips were red. I said something along the lines of  "Oh, he must have really liked that ice cream cone, his lips are red!" My dad responded with "Oh, no. That was the slush we gave him." I don't think it was a slush, but I can't think of the name that was used. So sorry.

Ian learned some new words this weekend as well. Of course, he's been saying "mommy" and "dadda" for a while now. However, over the weekend he added 2 more words to his repertoire. He now says "baba" (for mommy's milk) and "gama" for grandma! Can you believe it?! He's such a big boy now! Figuratively. Physically, he's still a tiny one. Oddly though, he's eating just about 24 hours a day. If I moved nonstop like he did though, I would probably be tiny too.

Now that Ian's update is over, I am saving my weekend post for tomorrow. You'll have to tune in then!

Good day!

Let Down

Remember my post a while back where I told you I was super excited about going to ACL for the first time ever? We have our tickets and everything. This might all be coming to a sad, sad ending. Hopefully I can throw something together at the last minute.

I don't feel right bringing Ian to the show because of all the smoke. He's so little. His poor little lungs. And if I did bring him, it would only be for one day. It's hot. The days are long. I can't expect him to last outside all day. That's mean. I really need to find a sitter to watch Ian for 3 days. All the people I would ask have other plans. So, I don't really know what I'm doing yet.

I would be devestated if I had to miss (and this is in no particular order): Asleep at the Wheel, Coheed and Cambria, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Queers of Leon, Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights, Flogging Molly, The Decemberists, Dave Matthews Band, the B52s, Toadies, Pearl Jam... the list could go on and on... Needless to say, it'll be a very very sad day. When will I ever be able to see this many awesome bands all in a row? I should have known better.

Okay. Now that I'm in a sad mood, I'm going to go watch the Office and clean. Amy and Brocholate are coming in tonight. I'm excited. :) I need a nice little stress reliever.

P.S. PARKORE!

P.P.S. I have my wedding shoes. All my bridesmaids have their dresses. It is all coming together. I need to finalize some things still. Hopefully Amy will help with that when she gets here.

P.P.P.S. It probably doesn't help my mood any when I read Pray for Dylan dot com. I'm going to put the link because I don't want everyone else to cry. But, Google it if you're interested. What an amazing baby. Keep him in your thoughts.

One more thought, I need pictures of Ian. I need to find my memory card.

Back in Action

So, I've been MIA lately. There is no real excuse, but I've been dealing with a few things. Here is a list:

  • Internship
  • Cleaning
  • Farmville on Facebook
  • Trying to cure myself of my choking phobia with Ian
    • He's eating Teddy Grahams at the moment... so I'm working on it.
  • Wedding planning
    • I GOT MY OFFICIAL WEDDING SHOES!
  • Not getting sick.
  • Making Ian's first birthday card
At the internship, we've had lots of sicknesses... including my boss. Stephen was even sick. I'm just trying to insure that me and the booger stay as healthy as possible. Speaking of which, I bet that you want an update on Ian. Well, he's very conversational now. He 'talks' to you all the time. He uses inflection really well now. He'll have a full on babble-thon with you! Also, he's completely loosing his mind. When Stephen shows Ian his teeth, Ian laughs uncontrollably. I, for the life of me, cannot figure out why Daddy's teeth are so hilarious. It's really funny when he's tired and cranky. Stephen will show him his teeth and Ian laugh-cries. He doesn't know what to do. My only theory? He's loosing his sleepy mind. He as to be. He's 10 months old and only takes one short nap a day. Sometimes, he completely misses his nap. Somehow, I gave birth to the only baby who doesn't sleep.

I lost my memory card... :(

I probably told you this in the last post, but he waves 'goodbye.' His arm is uncontrollable when he's saying bye. I can't believe he's almost one. :( He's growing up too fast.

Also, if anyone has any advice for me and being crazy about Ian choking, I'm open for ideas.

    Scattered

I am missing my memory card. It was in the computer. Now, it's nowhere to be found. I'm sure Ian took it. I need to find it so I can post more pictures of my angel. And take them too.

Let's take a look back at adorable Ian when he was first born:

Could he possibly be any cuter? No. I don't think so. He is perhaps the cutest baby on the planet.

As much as I love Ian, I will now focus my mind energies on another topic. Though, you'll have to keep in mind that Ian is in the chair next to me playing. You know how I write when he's next to me. In that one sentence, he climbed down from the chair and is roaming around. See? He has already stolen the spotlight again.

Before I forget (though I don't know how I could possibly EVER forget), we got a new a/c unit. Or a condenser. We got one of those thingyies that go outside. Yes, we had one before, but it sucked. This new one is awesome! Mainly because it works. And it's pretty. It's bigger, it's grey, it's sleek looking. Overall, I'm pretty happy. Regardless of the 3 day turn-around. It wasn't hot outside, so I didn't mind too much. Oh, what's that? You want a picture of it? Too bad. I need to find my memory card. We have like 3 of them I think.

(Funny side note: Ian will not get rid of his blue circle block or his red building block. So, he's literally back to army crawling around so that he can hold both of them. Then, he climbs up an object with no hands so that he's standing and proceeds to walk around. What an odd baby).

My first potential pair of wedding shoes were too big. They are adorable though! If someone returns my size, I will probably buy them right up. But, I'll wait for them in the right color and size. If they don't get it in, it wasn't mean to be. The search continues.

It is time to finish my morning coffee and play with Ian. :)

    Oops

I forgot to update yesterday. It was supposed to be Mommy Goggles. I haven't taken any recent pictures of Ian so I thefted some from my mom.

I love Ian's new 'focus' face. He puts his lips like that. It is hilarious. Speaking of hilarious things... it is really awkward when I'm sitting in a chair and I see a little head bob by. When I look up, there is a tiny child walking around with no destination. No obvious one anyways, I'm sure he knows where he's going. I can't believe he's already walking. Though, when I put shoes on his feet, he stops bending his legs and his feet become stones. If only he had a nice little par of converse to wear around. (My mom bought Ian's outfit for the rehearsal dinner at our wedding... adorable).

Would you like another picture now?

It's a little blurry. But you can definitely see the excitement in his face. He loves  his truck. He climbs on and holds on for dear life. Then dear ole' dad (or grandma, t-bone, or mommy) push him around. Yesterday, he was giggling. His feet don't touch the ground yet. He's little. I'm surprised a person so tiny can have such a huge personality. And so much skill. He knows when to use the pouty face. He knows how to direct grandpa around to get exactly what he wants. Cleaver.

On a note other than Ian. Our a/c has been out since Sunday. Seriously. We need a new unit. Hopefully we get one.

    It's Raining

It's about time. I'm so excited!! I woke up at 4:30 to some thunder. I stayed up a bit to see if it was true. It's been raining for way more than 5 minutes now. I'm so happy! When Stephen's parents came to visit us, they brought Honey. When she peed, it would roll on the ground. The ground was so hard and water deprived. I'm sure it still is, but this is definitely helping. I looked at weather.com and it's supposed to rain all week. Let's hope that the weather people are right for once. Is anyone else as excited as me?! I'm so excited that I want to get out my Caroline cup and mkake some coffee, but sadly my creamer is at my parents' place. So, instead I'm wasting all of my time that I don't have at zappos.com. I'm a VIP member now, this means free next day shipping. Don't worry, I've only ordered my first potential pair of wedding shoes, and I wasn't VIP yet. They should be here next week. Some time after Ian's costume arrives.

Remember a while ago when I told my bridesmaids to fill out a paper and send it to everyone? It was pretty neat. I even found things out about my bridesmaids. 3 of us were almost named Ariel. That is Franny's real name. And, Amy and I had very similar forms. I don't know what that surprised me. Here is a copy of it, I don't know if you'll be able to read it.

You'll have to click on it to get a better view. Those were the questions that were asked. The last 4 questions were questions that they wanted to know about one another. It was even a little surprising on who came up with what questions! I decided to do this because none of my bridesmaids really know each other. I feel like they should at least have a feel for one another before we all have to be shoved into the same room together. Overall? Success!

Well morning, that is all. I shall relax for the remainder of the morning.
